What’s RIN ?

RIN is a percussion instrument consisting of small, simple shaped copper alloy bells. The sound is similar to small tuned bells but has a uniquely clean and bright tone with a long resonance. The name RIN comes from this pure and bright tone.

With precision processing technology, RIN is tuned precisely in an equal temperament tuning system and can be arranged chromatically like crotales or antique cymbals. It has a range of approximately two octaves, from A5 to C#8. The bells are basically played by being struck with mallets, however, with a midi keyboard and a computer mutually connected, they can be played via keyboard or even perform automatically.

Not only general chromatic scale tuning in twelve-tone equal temperament but also microtone tuning is possible: it has an infinite potential in the field of modern and contemporary music composition and performance.
